600 cm might be a little big, but 330hp should get you going without too much wind.

the best light wind board is a skim board. Period. No twin tip or surfboard, no matter how large has less drag than a skim.

Depending on skim construction... Skimboards that flex are less efficient.

I see what your saying with the drag, but it also has very little float. I would love to see some of the race designers chime in on this. Supposedly you can cruise along in like 7 knots on some of those new race boards. Would love to try out the north production version.

I would look for a used Slingshot Glide. The original and still the best light-light-lightwind board. For the ultimate in lightwind efficiency, run it finless, a trick I learned from John Doyle who designed it. I haven't seen a skimboard that can out-glide a finless Glide.

Some sites to check out besides the classifieds here on nwkite are ikitesurf.com and ebay.

ryan is a comedian i see.

anyways, i have a skimboard, but it doesn't have anything to hold onto my feet with and that's a nono. i heard the bigger the board, the easier it is in light wind.

How does removing the fins Help performance? the fins are sooo small i am not sure they do much when they are on the board

Guys, guys, seriously...you need to start thinking big...

11 ft. and about 11,000,000 liters of pure light wind performance. In this shot I'm on a tiny 11m kite!

Thumb's Up

I definnetly know this answer its a board by lightwave made about five years ago , and evolution is not always good sometimes they should stick to what works, it was called wake n stlye, 181,179? 169! they were really good if you can get one that not delamed if the top sheet is bad pull it off , but these boards work and surf well dont feel like some big ass barn door with no rock they got plenty of rocker thats important in not stuffing it. you can cut delame and lay epoxy i would not try to glue delame down doesnt seem to work well ? but just glue it so it doesnt keep delaming!!!! good luck!!!!!!

landboard or door will suite you well.

personally I do something else when its light out (under 14mph). like ride a bike or hang out with friends I haven't seen since before I started kiting.

This is the Aboard (Glider) that perryj was reffering too. It is very good for light winds and wheighs next to nothing. This board can get me tacking upwind in 8mph on a 12m Eclipse Thruster. Great choice
