Wed Jun 24, 09 12:36 pm Kite safety at the Event Site/Sandbar |

Just a thought for everyone starting to experience the sudden jump in both windsurf and kite users at the Sandbar and Event Site.
This can be a very congested location with a very broad range of user ability levels, newbies to pros.
Please kite/windsurf safely. When launching or landing, please do not stand in one spot for a lengthy period of time with your kite at 12o'clock. It is difficult to navigate around you and increases the potential for an accident to happen from lack of kite control or patience by others.
ALSO!!! For us to maintain a positive relationship with the Port of Hood River and the CGWA, it would be in everyone's best interest to never kite into the Event Site water area, nor ever, ever, ever be stupid enough to try to show off by boosting airs directly in front of the Event Site.
Note to the person who boosted over a windsurfer directly off the Event Site Beach this Saturday - If you do this again, you will not be welcome at the Event Site/Sandbar. Your actions have already caused others to have to apologize and react on your part. Remember, what you do, reflects on everyone around you.
A Special Note to all of you who have been awesome beach police THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!!!! You are the ones that we really need to thank at the end of the summer when we are recognized for representing good/trustworthy behavior when we meet to renegotiate our launch/landing situations on Port Properties!!!
Thank you
