hey kevin, nice images.
I'm sure your contributions are appreciated by all.
As for events and comps, there are a couple that might interest you (slider jam, BOTG)
Check out the ION photo contest where you have an opportunity to compete with other photo teams and win $1000.

as for soliciting for money, that's great and all, but sounds more like an "industry" categorization.
I mean no disrespect, just an observation.
I understand you may want to get compensated for your work.
I'm all for that, but my suggestion would be to take that down a notch.
To me, it just takes the stoke out of it.
If you do want to make some money, try submitting some of your nicer images to those magazines within the industry.
also consider the manufacturers if you have good brand recognition in your images. plenty of local companies that would be interested (Dakine, Slingshot)
Your chances of compensation may increase.
Lots of good folks at the magazines always want to review some new exciting images. even of guys who rock the masks.

You will get some good shots...but...
In the past, photographers who have placed themselves in harms way, by positioning themselves in the water, have found it wise to wear a helmet and some sort of body armor. A guy named "Tank" comes to mind...He had a lot of exciting stories to tell...He worked out of an inner tube off "Ego Point" at the Hatchery...I don't recall whether or not they ever did find his head... |

Its all good stringy, i totally understand. i will do what you suggested and yea iwish i would rent a boat to go out on the water and take pictures that would be so awesome and hear a armor suite the heck with just a helmet.......lol
