Once I busted out the camera everyone was gone except Aaron.
I need to work on my action shots... I always end seem to end up out of focus or just plain blurry. I was trying to shoot in 800 iso but I think I need to mess with my focus mode. Any tips?

Scrib, what kind of camera do you have? I try and shoot the lowest ISO possible as most digital cameras...especially the ones mere mortals can afford introduce allot of noise when the iso numbers get higher. To combat this, I bought lens with very large apertures (2. that will let in more light so I can shoot lower Iso's. No greater than 400.. ever. hell wide open aperture at 6:30 yesterday I was shooting 200 iso with a 1/4000 shutter speed
in terms of focus, I know that Andrew puts the subject in the center of the frame, focuses, and then frames the shot how he wants without re-focusing.

I picked up a used d200. My lens is just what they bundled with the camera.
I'll mess around with the apeture priority and see what that gets me.

Save up some cash and buy a good zoom lens.
Something like this...http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/18200.htm Would be the only lens you would probably ever need.
Its not quite as fast as my 2.4 canon but it is close enough. I sunk quite a bit into my camera gear..probably more than I should have, but for me, if I'm going to spend some time taking pictures then I might as well have one of the better or best lenses out there. The bummer is when the pictures don't turn out, there is nobody to blame but yourself.
