Tide looks like it flips ~3:00ish! Tomorrow's Airnet forecast is GOOD! Cool

Tide wasn't an issue yesterday. I think there's still enuf flow that the tide switch isn't a deal breaker like it can be later in the summer. Plus it's supposed to cool down tmrw. SI likes it hot.

Yeah, but regardless, the tide was right for you yesterday. Just saying, it's better to have flowing out. Maybe not a deal breaker? If any of you get there before 3:00, toss a stick in and see what it does, please! Smile

I'm thinking of getting out of this seat I've been stuck in all day, and getting out there soon.

Flydunes has me kicking myself for 'not going'.

Dropped boards were heading for Astoria all day yesterday. And according to the Knapp Landing tide charts (closest I can find to SI), the tide went bad at 2:55pm yesterday so we were kiting in the wrong tide all day.

Here's the tide chart I use:

http://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/get_predictions.shtml?year=2008&stn=1038+Astoria&secstn=Knapp+Landing,+Wash.&thh=%2B4&thm=26&tlh=%2B6&tlm=28&hh=*0.0&hl=*0.0&footnote=wc5

But that tide chart is from 2008... Here's what I'm using.

http://www2.findu.com/cgi-bin/tide.cgi?tide=2625

Follows my iKitesurf tide chart with ~4 hour delay.

Not trying to argue. It's just from all of my experience there, the tide always seems to make a difference unless you're lit.

Adam - That's a good point! I forgot to update my bookmarks and didn't notice the damn YEAR that was listed. Rolling Eyes

The 2009 NOAA chart at Knapp Landing says that we WERE kiting in good tides yesterday. But we will be today too. High tide is at 4pm today. "FindU Tides" for Knapp Landing agrees.

the current was cranking so hard at 6 yesterday - you didn't need any wind at all Laughing

would think spring runoff trumps tides

OK, but you probably won't get to shoot as much bull and drink as much beer as we will.
