Hello,

Only need a few more donations to pull the trigger.
Please give what you can at:
www.pdxgreen.com/RoosterCam.aspx

(Recommended donation is $20, but more or less is OK too!)

I've heard from a couple people that their donation didn't go through.
If you didn't receive a thank you email from me, then the donation didn't go through. This can happen if there is an error with your credit card info - PayPal will take the info, but then throws it out if there are any problems. I don't get notified when this happens.

If you think you donated, but didn't hear back from me. Please check your bank account, and try donating again!!!!

thanks,
bobg

We've been working on something since it was at $180. We just need to shake a leg.

This brings up a good point though... a friend and I were talking a weekend or two ago, and CGKA came up. I was a member last year, and I have probably asked this question before, but where do the dues go? What are they used for? Is there a budget that could be made public? I don't mind joining and paying dues, but don't want to do it so we can have a BBQ paid for or something.

Very good questions. We should have our NEW website up soon. It will show all the things the CGKA and the members have done.

Here are a few off the top of my head:

Stevenson cleanups.
Sandbar cleanups.
Sauvie cleanups.
Allowing launching and landing from eventsite NOV1 to MAY 1.
Allowing pumping and drying (in special area) only at eventsite from MAY 1 for ever!
Many many port meetings.....
Money donated to the Christine foundation (lost her life due to a tragic kite accident)
Money donated to the Rooster cam.
Blowout races from Stevenson to Hood river.
Working on several major upgrades at Newer spots to launch (will be announced later)
Many Many burgers and drinks!!
There is allot more that I will remember later!
By the way, Please feel free to attend our meetings and see "behind the curtain".

Ps all the money collected is held in bank account controlled by our treasurer.

TinyE I am calling you out....you say the same thing every year....but I haven't seen you at a meeting yet. Come to some meetings and see what we are doing....Henry brings the account information to every meeting.

We have been having meeting ever single month and have been working super hard all winter to keep the access we have, get launches improved and try to get some new launches made. None of us are paid and all the dues are in the bank and have to go through approval before being spent on anything.

Or at least read the meeting minutes that get posted in the CGKA section.

I think it really boils down to transparency folks. They CGKA members expend allot of time and energy ensuring and improving continued access to our launch spots. It took a long time but finally we have an organization that effectively represents us and our collective interests.

Unfortunately, nobody knows what the CGKA is doing, or for that matter, who to contact to find out. Sure, I know who the members are but I would hazard a guess that most people do not. So the website was supposed to be launched several months ago...what is the progress?

I mean really, how hard is it to launch a simple website? Meeting notes, calendar, contact info, upcoming plans...
