Our first downwinder at 9 am went poorly since the wind died and we did a loop fest to make it down to our condo.

Then the wind came back up at 5 pm so we went for a second wave downwinder. The waves were awesome, head to head and a half high and really clean on the outside. So at the first mile I was coming toe side across the face a sweet, glassy, wave and a 3 ft black tipped shark was crusing the opposite way just below the surface at the bottom of the wave. We passed within a few feet of each other. He was cool with black little eyes and a perfect black tip. I just read up on them and they are not suppose to be aggresive to humans unless they get threatened.

Then we got about a mile from our condo and starting noticing that every time we came off the water we were getting a little tingle in our wrists. As it got stronger, we figured it out that we were getting shocks from all the electricity in the air and the higher we jumped the bigger the shock. About an hour later a small storm came through.

Crazy! I can't wait to get electrocuted to medium-rare and then devoured by little fishies with black tipped fins! Smile

So stoked to get down there. I'm in San Antonio at the rents house wasting time working until I can leave for the cable park at 3PM!

Seriously though, after dragging around in Great White water, I am soooo happy to just see some small black tip sharks.

This has been an amazing trip...everyone needs to hit up this place! Thanks Rico for the amazing photos...especially for capturing my first attempts at a handle pass. I want to thank Tucker for all of the tips and encouragement…even though Forest does not think your nipples are LEGIT. Want to give Slingshot a big thanks for the Demo kites..you guys rock!
