The island has protected birds nesting there...need to stay away from it our we might lose all our access and you could get a big fine if caught. Please be aware of this and be responsible.
Many of those pics were taken at Holly Beach. Funny that a day later the gate was put back up ?
ride responsible.......and respect the local issues

They installed no trespassing signs a half hour after we got to Holly the first day so I don't think it was the photos that tipped them off.
I guess we weren't aware of the Holly ban when we showed up, I have been going there for 6 years and always kept it on the DL. We never mentioned "Holly" anywhere on this thread. Last year it was supposedly shut down but we still found kiters there.
What is the story anyway with Holly? I understand its private land but it also seems to be an access road for the sewer treatment ditch. Is the property owner just banning it for kiters? There are always fisherman there when we go and there is a huge trench going out for fishing boats.

No, it wasnt your pics that tipped them off. Who knows ???
The land is privately owned and neither kiters or fisherman ever had permission to be on the land. Hard to police I guess.. The road going into Holly is a private road. The main road where the treatment plant is a public road. This road goes all the way to the water.
The property is for sale now, like 1300 acres, probably why the no tresspassing signs are up and the gate locked ?
The other launch site we are developing will be nice. Just dont want to lose total access because we are bothering protected birds.....There are just not many good launch sites on this side of the laguna madre and has you know it is a great place to kite........cheers
