OK, This is the damage, worst nightmare for me.

Any body want to take a guess at what this is going to cost to repair. Let me know.
I'm out of comission for a while. This sucks. I'm posting the pics because every one wants to know the extant of the damage. Well here it is.

So what happened did u got down to Floras & stick it in a tree ?
Or did u go to coast ?
We have all done this while learning. Part of the deal.
I had a Kook wrap his kite in mine last summer at Rufus and torn a Rebel from bottom to LE full canopy length. Airtime fixed in 3 days, $ 125 later.

Newport on Saturday average 18 mph. wind.
It was fun until this happened. Inverted and riped when it smaked the water. would be my guess.

ummm, fun until the kite got run over by a lawn mower. Laughing

looks like it started at the leading edge seem to me. That is going to cost you around $100 to $150 to fix.

Not really. I don't have the money. I saved up for 5 month just to buy the kite. Looks like I'm going to have to save for a while again. Just to get it repaired. It's like I guess. I might charge it. It's the American way. Plastic.

Just think.....You could have spent that money on lessons, recieved some instruction, trashed their kite and your kite would still be new Idea

I still don't understand what happened. Did you smash it into a log or the jetty? That doesn't usually happen from tomahawking it into the beach...

Looking at it now, I'd say $150 as well.

No I didn't see anything hard. My guess is it blew up on impact with the water. All I know is when I got it to the beach, I had a mess to deal with. It's like my life just flashed before me. I have never seen this kind of material rip in all directions. The leading edge is untouched.

Did it get hit by a wave while you were still hooked in? Like I said, that's not a normal for crashing...

No there was no waves were I was. I was about 100 yards behind the South jetty.

You said it inverted in the other thread, how did that happen? That's pretty hard to do so with a REV. I think we're still missing something.

Well if I knew the right words. I could better explaine it. I looped it. It flipped and smaked in the water. I had a face full of water. So the details are a little blurry. Dragged it to shore and saw the damage. I can imagine different reasons that would cause that. Just don't know for sure. The leading edge is fine. Just that one panel blew up in all directions. Bad cloth, I don't know. Lessons are not needed in flying the kite. I can fly it no problem. It just wasn't my day. I have torn my share of sails on my wind surfers in the past. it happens. Just never to something brand new like this.

I was a 100 yards from the South jetty with a NW wind. I thought I was far anough to the South. The wind as almost dead some times when I brought the kite to low. So it could have been weird. I don't know. The damage is done. Now I just need to get it fixed so I can go catch some air.
