If there was success of energy competing altenatives
OPEC would find a way to derail it.

just ask the corn growers and bio fuels crowd

I would bet that the silicon valley boys will have just as tough of time
producing cars for a profit as anyone else

but I'm sure there will lines to buy a $130k (carbon$$)
car

You gotta keep working that schulzy

The GEM car I got was donated by Chrysler to a hospital in Cali (to meet an alternative energy quota- got it on Ebay) - there were no dealers or service in OR but the thing was essentially a souped up golf cart (hot lips uses them for pizza delivery) - with the Aptera you would probably have to flatbed it back to get it fixed (gen one tech usually requires some tweaks).

Good info Gman- I will keep working it to see if I can get one of these.

As I seem to recall, there is more of a concern in this day and age about air pollution, the shrinking supply of oil, and substandard US fuel economy standards than there is about the present state of our landfills.

Judging by the millions of tons of plastic grocery bags still tossed out, you're entirely correct PMB!

I do believe Sam Adams has outlawing plastic bags in portland on the agenda. They are a complete scourge in my eye.

Thread zombie time!

Small Cars Are Dangerous Cars

"That difference is reflected in the real world. The death rate in minis in multi-vehicle crashes is almost twice as high as that of large cars. And in single-vehicle crashes, where there's no oversized second vehicle to blame, the difference is even greater: Passengers in minis suffered three times as many deaths as in large cars."

I'm going to go home and fill my trunk with lead. And then pick up a good full face helmet and nomex suit for the little one.

I saw someone driving one of these today with two people in it. Looked pretty cool.
