Camas launch is on where 14 crosses the mouth of the Washougal. I think the water is low enough for the beach to be there, but haven't checked it out lately...

Moto, you'd best buy one of those baby waroo 3s, cause I'm going to ride with a 5! Very Happy

Just in from Mike! Thumb's Up

"Camas onsite: 15-20 mph. Not a lot of beach, but doable..."

Super steady winds at Camas, for like 5 seconds at a time. Very Happy Yee haw! Rodeo kiting at it's finest. 11m winds, ranging from slogging for a second or two too hanging on for dear life. If it was that gusty at Camas, I wonder what Rooster was like? Shocked Anybody go?

I was watching RR from the comfort of my bed room - i kitesurf had it gusting to over 40 knots. So who knows what it was like in real life - 50 maybe 55 knots Shocked with lulls around 15 - so from slogging to barely hanging on back to slogging.

Pics are nothing special. Really just proof we were there.

Drove around a bit and ended up at Cottonwood. As Nak said, we Kited. That's about all we can say. Wind was less than impressive. Water temp was 45 . Wasn't quite as cold as I was expecting.

Looks like you guys were at Cottonwood, not Camas??? What time were you there? I guess the beach is back there now... I was parked on 14, just where it crosses the Washougal river. The wind was strong enough I could work upwind even with the extreme lulls. Was the wind up at Cottonwood steady at least? How about out in the channel, I'll bet it was nukage out there. Very Happy

Kite sizes were 8 9 10. The wind gauge said it was 15 - 25, but I think there were a couple gusts that may have been higher than 25.

You could stay up wind for sure, but it was up and down. Pretty much survival kiting.

I didn't realize there was a difference between the Camas launch and Cottonwood. Today was my first time out there.

What's the Camas launch like?

Andy

The beach is a lot nicer at Cottonwood, mostly muddy sand and rocks at Camas. The wind usually tends to be cleaner at Camas, but it sounds like today it was about the same.

Actually, that water isn't that cold...
Well maybe a little, but I was fine on my 4/3...
What you really need is booties and gloves...And maybe some type
of water bennie would also help...The beach was def. nice - wind was a little flucky...

Thanks for Pics Andy....
