Question Dale: What would a "dedicated wave kite" offer differently compared to free ride? It kind of looks like a delta shape Fone or Wainman with some Naish tossed in but not quite so does it have good low end grunt and is really fast through the window???
It's cool...I've just never seen a "wave kite only" type marketing so I'm curious to the benefits and if there are any mag reviews yet because I'm not close to the local PNW crew for demo's until Spring. Thanks.

The kite is in its third year of refinement, It is very fast through the window, very good grunt low end, excellent relaunch, it jumps but not like the other kites, it goes where you put it, no need to worry about doing weird things! and the kite is built tough to withstand harsh shore pound. Most people with a surf board will be using a 6m and 9m covering 95% of your ridding time!
All of our kites come with a one year warranty through Airtime! it is totally no questions asked, regardless what happens to your kite for a year all you have to do is get it to airtime and it is fixed no cost other than shipping it back to you!
“ The bullet proof warranty”
I will post info and pics soon of our new 09 bar and the Thruster our high end freestyle kite.
If you are interested in trying one just let me know and we will work it out!
Our Nano is geared around the person that is a beginner or the intermediate/advanced rider who want a two kite quiver and like a little of all conditions, the Nano does everything well, fast relaunch, stable, jumps great!
People also love this kite in the waves and unhooked!

He can show all how to get the most out of the Kima!

YA!!!!! cant wait, after flying the Kima at the LaVentana Kite Expo Im super stoked to really progress in the waves. The kite has tons of low end grunt and piviot turns really quick without loss or power (i.e. no power surge through the turns) super fun and friendly to ride. It has lift if you ask it but not much hang time.
This kite is going to totally dominate in the surf.
If you want to take it for a ride just ask, I will be the one with a HUGE smile on my face. .....Killen it

Thats funny coming from someone that was so dead set against that style of riding. Not sure what to think about that
Why bash something one day and then turn around and use it the next

here's a quote from felix...
| Quote: | Yes I do use the rooster ring on my Kima.
Works fine.Even line tension which is really hard to find in a s.l.e when riding it on a fixed set up.
There are so many ways you can ride a wave with a kite.
I feel that the way your kite flys will dictate in some way how you ride a wave.
Difference in kites will
Some kites sit further back in the wind window some sit forward.
Some Kites pivot turn, some turn more like an arch thru the sky.
Depending on your style and how you want to ride you will prefer one over the another.
The Kima is an efficient S.L.E that is quick for the size of the kite.It is a kite that redirects really quickly pivoting but NOT to the extent that it stalls making it lose power in the turn. Then powering back up when you dont want it too.
If you ride in the loop this is less noticeable and can be over looked but when unhooked in can be a little bit of a head ache.
The Less of a pivot in a kites turn the better for unhooked riding.
As it will give you a more constant power while the kite turns thru the sky allowing you not to get yanked.
If your kite sits too far back in the window it will drag you downwind allot quicker when a gust hits and most likely yank you down the line missing the section.
Kites that sit forward will allow you to be in more control when a gust hits when riding unhooked.
The Kima is a kite that can be ridden hooked or unhooked as its pivot turn is not too extreme like other S.L.E kites on the market that stop and stall.
The simplicity of a C kite with four lines gives it less drag and give it a bit of a lighter feel in the sky.Its really getting into personal preference and what you want to feel.
Some people turn the kite once and hope for the best others fly their kites
I have to say different strokes for different folks.
This is why eclipse's range will have something for every one.

Muchas gracias for the feedback / update El Capitan y Sol.
Pivec's feedback about flying forward or back in the window and quick turning for keeping your power constant etc plus how your riding style is just as much a factor makes total sense. It reminds me of how I felt when I went from 1st Gen Turbo Diesel's to Rev's. It was ridiculous how you could forget about your kite and focus on riding.
Can't wait to try out the Kimo and since I should have gold member status at Airtime I'm groovin' on the warranty. Thanks again.

well,...in my opinion the new KIMA puts any "C' kite to shame in the surf.
(not that I'm a bad ass wave rider )
But there is a "C" kite in the works.

I would love to try the kite out but I'm skeptical about buying a kite from a company who's major proponents don't know how to resize a picture.
Twin, just for clarification. are you going to be killin IT , or attempting to kill yourself ? I think beat one of your nine lives out of you in LV.
