Snow Kite Soldier is February 20-22. For more information please see the website http://www.snowkitesoldier.com/events.aspx

I am driving out Thursday Feb 19th. If you are planning on going lets use this tread as a Caravan/Carpool Thread.

I think it will be a great event on some of the best Snow Kiting Terrain in the country.

Hope you guys can make it!

I was planning on heading out solo Thur. afternoon or evening from Portland and would be interested in carpooling/room share if anybody would like to cut costs. I need to be back by Mon. afternoon. Hit me up if you're interested and want to figure something out.

Matt we are waiting to hear back from a few others for our carpool. If they can't make it you can hop in with us. I should know by this weekend.

Nick we should be leaving pdx late thursday afternoon...we'll talk at the party and work out the details...and then forget it all when I wake up sunday morning. Twisted Evil Drunk Drunk Drunk Drunk

How long is the drive out there?

It looks like its like 530 miles from PDX. Is that about right?

Google maps says 8 hours....they always overestimate so my guess is 6.5-7 hours

Drive time from Hood is about 7 hours. Don't forget the time change. Take Interstate 84 to Mountain Home and exit onto Highway 20 East toward Fairfield. I'v kited 8 of the last 10 days. Another storm rolled through last night. Headed up again today. I'll post some pictures soon.

PostMon Feb 09, 09 10:42 am    More Lodging for event: Reply with quote

Here is the other lodging option. I believe they have a handful of lodges still available.

Soldier Mountain Ranch
Route 1, Box 2070,
Corral, ID 83322
Phone (208) 764-2506

2 Bed/2bath for $145
3 bed/2bath for $180
$70 for 1bedroom

If you have extra bed space or have a friend unable to attend, please contact me. I have several floaters who would share the burden.

It happens I have to be in Los Vegas on Tuesday and Wednesday the 24th and 25th, since this is on the way I don't see how I could miss it.

I need to place to stay, preferably a room but floor space would do. If you have a room or space let me know? Price?

I expect to arrive late Friday and depart on Monday.
