well I think someone posted a cool vid of people throwing down and you poured piss and vinegar on his thread in attempt to clarify what boots are REALLY for and how people are SUPPOSED to ride them.

I love ya Forest, I do.. but who the F(*&k cares how some guy rides? THAT is my issue with the wakestylers. too much negativity man, too much negativity. To me, its the only discipline in kiteboarding that seems hell bent on dissing the other disciplines.

You see danglers and surfers and strapless riders dissing people in boots? I see some guy boost huge and I smile thinking to myself, that guy is stoked. The wakers have to come out and dismiss him as a dangler.

A drinking contest wouldn't be fair as you are missing a front tooth which gives you an advantage. I think it should be an arm wrestling match. or a unicorn off but I'm not sure what that would look like.

I love you too MonkeyBoy. Anyway, I see this as no different that discussing sports teams and their players anyway. Kiting is my football/basketball/hockey/etc.

Would you agree that with a title like "Boots Biotch", you would expect there is going to be some hardcore riding that is going to showcase boots in all their glory? Well, it made me think that, and after I watched the video... What a let down... There were a few good hits in there, but for the most part, it didn't showcase boots in anyway.

As someone who just started riding boots, I agree with Forrest.
Boots are a tool to help you hold down tons of power with your kite low.
If you've never given this an honest attempt, do it.
Popping off the water with that much power is a rush.
It also feels really good to stomp something with a lot of momentum.
I thought it was harder to do the same tricks, but much more rewarding when you get it right.
Plus it seemed like while riding boots the whole setup responded better to having the kite low than high.

I have a lot more respect now for people throwing down with their kite low in boots.
15 degrees makes a world of difference.

Those were some fun looking waves though.
