"I like turtles!"

OK, now that we got that outta the way, I'll be heading to West Australia for a month on Feb 4th for some (hopefully epic) wave riding. I'm meeting Gabe there and we would like to shoot some video of Gnaraloo and Margaret River (maybe other spots too). If we get this footage it'll be good for showcasing the waves that they get over there and hopefully you'll see some fun riding too. If anyone has a video camera with a tripod that's fairly compact that they don't mind loaning out until March 10th that's be awesome. I'll obviously hook you up with a case or two of your favorite beer and take good care of the camcorder.

Thanks in advance. Hope you guys get some killer snowkiting while I'm gone.

gene, hit me up. I also have a miniDV tape based camera you can use. No big deal if you break it either. I've got polarizing and sunset filters and all that other happy crap for it.

Thanks for the tips guys. The $350 camera could be a backup option, but I'm trying to keep trip costs down (as much as that's possible).

By the way, I'm glad I got scuba certified on Maui. Hopefully I'll sneak away from kiting for a few dives on the Ningaloo reef which is supposed to be really badass. Have already seen lots of Morey eels, white tip sharks, turtle cleaning station, etc. on Maui so curious to see what lives in the Australian ocean. If you're ever looking to get open water certified check "Maui Diving" (type it in right cuz there's lots of similar names) for the best deal around and it only takes 3 days, which includes 6 dives. Pretty minimal time commitment and fun. Better than any other programs I've seen listed in Oregon, Hawaii, and other places.

Haha, thanks for the kind words and camera offers everyone. I might go with Forrest's setup if Stringer picked his cam up today. Otherwise I'll catch up with you on Tues Brian.

Ryan, glad you're getting the goods. Unfortunately, this trip is too short to hit up both coasts, but I'll definitely try to make it back there again some time.

I don't know if Gabe has any footage, but he says Gnaraloo has been amazing with head high to double overhead waves with perfectly smackable lips. Supposedly he's been getting 6 lip smacks going down the line on many waves. I'll try to post something when I get down there.

If you want to bring another camera along Gene I have a complete setup that rigs to your center strut. It holds my waterproof camera that can be set to shoot interval shots or video. I'll bring it to the winter party and you can check it out. Cool

Thanks Chooch. I'm leaving tomorrow (Wed) so will need it before then. I'm gonna see how my packing goes. Shooting to be at PDX a bit after 4pm tomorrow. Depending on weight situation I might try to figure out a way to meet up.
