You have received the following reply to an ad that you posted in the Kiteboarding section of the Classifieds:

Michael Welsh (michaelwelsh21@yahoo.com) writes:

1)Are you the owner ???
2)What are the conditions ???
3) send the recent pictures if available.
4) What is your last offer? (PRICE)

I await your swift response immediately you recieve this message in order to proceed....

YOUR QUICK RESPONSE WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED..

I'm having no fun selling shit. My last potential buyer agreed on a price then the next day he disappeared after emailing back and forth with me all day. I'm actually a little concerned that something may have happened to him.

I have numerous items on craigs and this idiot has responded to almost everyone of them. You can tell right away it's a scammer. Funny though you nailed it!

I have sold tons of equipment thru Iwindsurf.com and it is riddled with internet scammers. However, it is pretty easy to differentiate between crooks and kiteboarders when you start talking the language of kiters. The crooks have no idea what certain vocab like "depower" or "wind range" mean and will instantly give their fraud away. Just engage them in a bit of email banter and it will become obvious who are potential buyers and who are bullshitters.

Another dead crook give-away is they tend to be overly polite especially the overseas scammers plus the grammatical and spelling errors tend to let you know something is not right. And if they get you to send them $4000 in exchange that they will return it along with the price of the kite, you deserve to get ripped off for being such an internet dumbass.

The internet is greatest invention for selling odd stuff like kiteboarding equipment since you can advertise to a global community, however you will reach everyone including the crooks which hungry for a sucker!!

Country code 44 is the UK so you would think Mr. Welsh's grammatical style would be more solid but with international taxes our goods sell for much less than across the world so used gear is going to be more popular with a global recession in place.
Go to www.mercadolibre.com and you'll laugh at the used kite values

Also, nwkite gets a huge lurking international crowd because of the pic and vid postings so it makes sense the classifieds get attention but like Windian said don't be an internet dumbass and ship before you have the dinero in hand.

Scams don't ask for pics or give out a contact number, email or request a contact number to reach the seller even after somebody calls him out as a Nigerian money scam.

Pete did you have a bad communication with Federico over a sale because the guy sounds legit?

Yeah, this douche bag hit me up too! I liked the "are you the owner" question. LMAO

I think i am going to put together an 'internet scammer hunter-killer team' and search out these guys. The team will consist of a few of my Redneck Beer Guzzlin' buddies who only hunt with high powered rifles they use to splotlight and poach deer in the off season. All I have to do is tell them that these scammers are all Anti-American, who taste like chicken fried steak, have no bag limit, hate the Rebel flag, and are DIRECTLY responsible for the breakup of Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I did not have an experience with Federico, but he sounded like a scammer to me. Guys that don't speak english very well, I am always wary of, first off.

Also, I got scammed by a guy who wanted me to email him, and once he had my email address, somehow he was able to make a payment to himself from my PayPal account. So, I am super wary about emailing anyone until I know they are legit.

He asked for his phone number, he did not offer his own. In my mind, if he gets your phone number, and your email address, that is two pieces of information that he has about you that he can possibly use to access your personal accounts.
