T-minus four days until the pdx clowns hit the scene. Can hardly sleep.

Snagged these pictures off the seattle forum taken last weekend of the swell situation in La Ventana. Soo glad I picked up that SST. 9 foot faces and 74 degree water.

Yeah, waves are so fickle. Hope you guys get the goods while down there.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for these spots in Feb. Based on seasonal trends 9ft @ 11s average doesn't sound too shabby Smile

I'm really freakin stoked too. We're leaving Saturday and staying in Los Barilles, but we will probably drive North for the Expo.

Has anyone ever kited El Rincon? That was the coolest beach I saw down there and I'm set on kiting it. It's real close to Cabo Pulmo.

you're talking north of cabo pulmo by about 5 miles or so? it's supposed to be kiteable and worth doing. guys downwinder from los barilles to thereabouts.

haven't done it personally but thats the word i heard last time i was in the area.

hook it up and pass the word along. i kind of liked the east cape more than la ventana for family entertainments.

I've kited La Ribera several times (it's a small village with gorgeous super long empty beach). It's North of the main Cabo Pulmo area and South of the bay near Los Barriles. You'll find the best waves in the area there, but wind is fairly onshore on dominant wind direction. Still liked it more than Los Barriles. Search on this forum for more info about it.

I'm going to kitesurf mostly, but the surfing is supposed to be really good too. These spots are in SW Australia within a day's drive of Perth.
