Hey Everyone -- Just want to let you all know about a killer kiteboarding opportunity in Costa Rica's remote North Pacific coast during windy season. Check the links below for more info or read on..

The packaged deal costs only $1500 per person and includes 7 nights/8 days stay at Recreo (see link below) a private luxury villa with ocean/mountain view, private pool, your own dedicated chef and maid; premium food package that includes 3 meals a day and top-shelf liquor and snacks tailored to your taste. The trip also includes 5 days of kitboarding instruction with all gear included. And when you're not kiting, there's jungle canopy tours, kayaking, horse back riding, snorkeling, golf carts for transportation, and much, much more.

Dates are February 21st to 28th and February 28th to March 7th.

PM me for more information.

So, this place frick'n rocks! We flew into Liberia, and within 2 hours were on the water.(after a quick tour of Recreo) Clear blue skies, blue water, and 25-35mph winds. It blows all night and all day. The last 2 days have been easy 7m. the bay is huge. lots of exploring to be done on and off the water. Once you cross the middle of the bay, you are in Nicaraguan waters. There is a big island with a jetty / sandbar,(flat water) and a reef section with some flats that some guys do speed runs.
The Recreo resort is SWEET. Everything is at your disposal. What do you want to drink? where do you want to go? What do you want to see? It is DONE! Damn! I forgot to call in my massage.
We will be testing the Hero cam, so that should bring some sick shots. Busy tonight, but will post some more pics and vids later.

That dude was trying out my 7m. I was at the camera. There were about 3-5 riders out at a time that day, but the bay is miles long, and like a mile wide. the land on the other side is Nicaragua. In my three days here, the kite of choice has been between 5-10m depending on weight and riding style. I was on a 12m just before dark the first day.(should have been a 7m) and have been on a 5m except when swapping onto a 10m to rescue someone's board.(my gear just got packed for the day) I should have been on a 7m the whole time, but my 7m and board didn't make it until today.

Out in the middle of the bay there are some nice swells because of the 30 kt winds blowing all day. Bob kited over to a sandbar break on the other side and found some nice waves. Deb and I going there today. I left my fins at home for my Open Ocean surfboard. I wish you were here to make me some fins.

Bummer about the fins, want me to Fedex them? Dare you to go over to Nicaragua:

"U.S. citizens are cautioned that strong currents and undertows off sections of Nicaragua's Pacific coast have resulted in a number of incidents of drowning. Powerful waves have also resulted in broken bones, and injuries caused by sting rays are not uncommon in popular resort bathing areas. Warning signs are not posted, and lifeguards and rescue equipment are not readily available. U.S. citizens contemplating beach activities in Nicaragua's Pacific waters should exercise appropriate caution."

Just another windy day in CR. After tennis and a swim in the big pool we were back at the the beach. It was more of the same, others mostly on 7-9's and even some 5's. I'm the big guy so still on the 09' Batwing 10M. Here are a few more pics of the new Batwing 10M that everyone's really liking. Tonight we got some local teak wood and some thruster fins from a local and Bob and sawed and sanded and might have the OO surfboard back on the water.

We will definitely do this again next year. Here are three videos on the event that can give a good glimpse of the good times and amazing winds we had.

due to the high winds we had little net time in CR. I have some more editing to do, but have lots of pics and some surfhero vids I will through up soon. I had the pleasure of meeting a sting ray. My foot got infected, and I am still recovering. my last few days TRYING to ride kinda sucked. makes for a nice carnage video though. was colapsing just riding in a straight line. Not on my comp, or I would post at least one pic. Sorry.
