Meadows only had Buttercup open yesterday Shocked (Due to the winds and freezing rains). Same thing today - if you want to go hit Meados - be prepared to ride Buttercup and thats it.

They have had a rough start to the year. Their season started late and they have had a lot of freezing rain - which has prevented them from opening a lot of lifts.

Hope it turns around soon - I gotta ride man - otherwise I'm going to have to get a dry suit and go hit the gorge!!

I was thinking about trying for a skimboard session today at the Sandbar. Now that GroundClown has popped the 09 cherry, I'm feeling a little more motivated.

I think a coastal session is due this weekend since Meadows looks like shit. Saturday looks like it has potential at the North coast with a SW system in place.

It was looking inviting and after multiple sessions in November and December, why not January? Then I saw the water temperature is 38˚ and and awful lot of dirty water coming from the Hoody made the warm office not such a bad place to be today.

Meadows was fine this past weekend. Saturday even had some sun. Busy, yeah, but it is always packed then.

Anyone hiting the Hood better watch out for wood. hit a few small pieces, but there was some big stuff out there. I've about given up on the Mt. this year, the one time I went up it was raining so I did not even bother. Im down with a coast trip though. it's been since late August for me.

Terremotto-
Save yourself a few bucks and get a 6mm wetsuit with integral hood. I spent about 45 minutes submerged rescuing someone's kayak yesterday(well worth the effort dude gave me 100 bones). That Ripcurl's WARM. I've got a few new hooded Bodyglove 5/4 for $280. On really windy days I put a 2mm shirt over the top. the 3mm promotion booties are a bit thin, but more than tollarable. I've kited down to 18 deg. with this setup. iceing over while riding around. had about an hour swim at Home Valley at 25 deg. once. feet were gone though. also check out those new Patagonia wool suite's Norby posted. go for the R4.

Meadows was great this afternoon.
The wind backed down from the morning, and there was almost no one there.
They got Shooting Star and even Heather Canyon (but not the chair) open after lunch. There was plenty of untracked (but heavy) powder everywhere.
It was pretty much a whiteout blizzard as I was driving down the access road, so it should be even better tomorrow when the sun comes out.

It goes day by day - the day this post got started Meadows only had buttercup running for like two days in row. Today I am sure they had some more stuff up and running.

At least Meadows had shit running... Yesterday Ski Bowl and T-line were both closed. Tomorrow should be good, though we'll be at Ski Bowl night with the kite crew! Next Monday should be solid back at Meadows if the forecast holds.

Thanks man - I have been shopping around for a new wetsuit. Last year's wetsuit had four seasons on it and it was time to give it a proper buriel. I have been considering the mutant - but not sure at this point.

Pepi has some good deals on the HyperFlex Amp 5/4/3 with integrated hood. I just grabbed one a few days ago.
