Anyone interested in heading to Meadows on Tuesday for some pow pow? Gonna try leave pretty early from Beaverton. Lemme know if you're interested in carpooling.

Yeah, wtf!? Did everyone's grandmas let them outta the house or something? Go back to school/work you gapers. We don't like yar kind round here. Place was a zoo for a Tuesday, but got some fun runs in anyway. Meadows was in top shape as usual keeping Vista, Cascade and Blue chairs closed even though the other quads had 20+ minute waits at times and there was no wind or visibility issues.

How did you see it? They claimed on their website that it was open 10:30-3:30 even though it wasn't running around 1:30. The info on their website is updated at their convenience and often has misleading info which for some reason always seems to favor them.

No need to be a hater...

Yeah.. not perfect.. or really accurate.. but sometimes in your favor.

I went up a day a week or so ago and it said 1" of fresh on the web. Got up there to find 8-10" of fresh light untracked. Glad I rolled the dice.

Also, meadows has improved the riding areas this year. Mostly opening up stuff we all used to poach anyways.. such as the Fright trees at HRM and the far canyon beyond Heather. At least now we're not risking a pass pull to ride some of the goods.

They hired a new GM end of last year. He came from years of operating at Jackson Hole, which is known for the steepest and most extreme 'in bounds' riding in the USA. I'm sure he's had something to do with the loosening of the noose around meadows and allowing people with skills and judgement to use that for themselves and ride where they want.

We stood in line to get pass pictures and they were handing out free tickets for
those in the back of the line who did not want to wait. My daughter went back
and got one. We both got our passes anyway and then called her BF up to use
the freebie. She had to babysit in the early afternoon so I rode with her BF until
just before close. It was crowed but we had fun in the park over by HRM. Top of
the mountain looked pretty icy/blown off. Meadows is what you make of it. It's
an easy fix.

P.S.
I just picked up a new pair of skis; Solomon Gun 164s. What's a good edge tune
for sliding sideways on the rails?

Fright trees were open last year too Tekko (not sure beyond that).

Yes, I have fun at Meadows and the pass is a pretty good option for around here. But just like with any service provider there's no reason you shouldn't expect more from them. I guess I've just gotten used to Kirkwood over the past several years, which is way more on top of stuff.

Meadows is playing with a hand held scanner this year. They scan every ticket every time. I asked why... they said they want to be able to post up your stats online. Only problem is it seems to slow the whole lines down. Plus almost half the time they didn't scan me.

Personally I don't care about stats. Would rather get on the chair quicker.

i noticed that scanning stuff too and they were letting chairs go empty trying to get people scanned. first priority should be filling every chair, second priority scanning. they need to get it together a bit.

i'm definitely appreciating the BC setup this year, we got jack's woods on 12/20 Cool
