Thanks everyone for all the kind words and support.
Tonia and I are both so stoked to be part of such a great community of kiters and friends!
We have never done anything typical.. and so exchanging vows for us would be no different.
Initially we were going to run away somewhere just the 2 of us, but with all the things that have happened in our lives the past few years, we had to include our moms and dads and Tonia's Grandma. That said.. we still knew we had to do it in a powerful place in the presence of all of the natural elements, so 6000' up Mt Hood at Timberline seemed the perfect call... even if we had to drag the parents up the hill.
Sorry for effecting the snowfall the past few weeks.. didn't even realize we were doing it, but the place we decided to stand and exchange vows would not have been accessible for the fam with a 'normal' snowpack.. as we climbed up a a ways from the lodge to be on the upper shelf in the late afternoon sunlight as it set.
And as if on cue, as we arrived at our spot up the hill, the sun broke below the clouds as the near (1 night before) full moon rose through the trees, both illuminating the mountain in a magical light as the sunlight faded and the full moon light settled across from the opposite side.
Tonia was as beautiful as ever (Hottie!!) and everything was as it should be as we exchanged our vows in the presence of such great energy.
Then, as Tonia mentioned.. woke up the next morning to winter coming in hard and fast and couldn't get out of the lodge fast enough to avoid the first sketchy drive back down to HR from the Mt.
Time to put the snow tires on.. It's game on. Winter's finally here!!
Now we begin planning our reception party to celebrate this summer, and slow down for a bit as we work from home in the Gorge for a while and try to score as many powder mornings as possible!!
After 35 days on the road in the LF van in TX in Nov and early Dec, being home in White Salmon with my beautiful wife and not going anywhere for a while sounds like a great honeymoon plan!

Thought I would post a picture of the couple-- security was tight around Timberline- but was able to get this one smuggled out

Congrats on the mountain wedding!
Few things rock as much as kiting, but being in love is one of them. Having both is epic!
Y'all gave me encouragement from that LF van as I was about to drag my newbie ass out in the water for my first kiting experience (body drag lesson) at the flats on SPI last April. What ever you said, it worked!!!
EnJoy!
