haha, i wish, no i can't take credit for the new site, i have nothing to do with it. I just work at the hosting company and changed the DNS records, so i knew about the new site going live. i actually knew about the new website quite a while ago, i just kept my trap shut until it was ready for launch.

Shouldn't Shift-F5 reload a fresh copy of the website too?

my understanding was that shift-F5, on a windows box, tells your browser to force a refresh with the web server, this is different than clearing the local DNS cache.
altho i guess i could see IE doing a new DNS lookup, on a Shift F5 as well.

Wow - it even displays on my Linux box running Firefox 2! That's a rarity in this IE/Flash-laden world.
Smart move on brighter boards this year too. Black can be a bitch to find in choppy water.
Great site, now I have something to keep me busy at work...

Wow!
SS coming out strong with a full- direct buy online feature.. ala BEST...( but without the savings)
and yet, when you go to check out their dealer locator.. and enter in a Gorge Zip Code.. it's astonishing to see that according to SS- you can buy SS at many spots in the Gorge.. including Big Winds?? Which receives the top listing?? Then you click to their website from the listing.. and there is no SS products listed... Just Naish, North and Cabrinha?
I guess, if you were looking for SS products and used their dealer locator, maybe you'd just get frustrated enough to buy direct from SS. Why support a local retailer?
Windance doesn't even get listed on the first page, when searching for dealers... don't they have more SS in stock than Big Winds?! I mean, they're an actual SS dealer. They must love the buy online direct!!
Gorge Performance isn't even listed in their dealer listings... and yet I know GP sold more REV's than any other kite in 08.
Great for SS... bummer for the local kite shops that have been making commitments, stocking products and supporting them for years... while being the local resource open and available 7 days a week to provide info, parts, support, etc.

internet stores will eventually bring down a lot of local shops. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but it does hurt local economy. It's no different than doing your Christmas shopping online, or buying a book (or anything else) from amazon.

I dont think slingshot is trying to bring down any of their dealers as pretty much everywhere on their site where there is an option to buy it also has an option to locate a dealer.
thanks for pointing out some of the problems with the dealer locator, i'll make sure the info gets to the correct people so it can get fixed.
