Any thoughts on the coast? Seems like some Southerlies could be possible but not too strong. Maybe grab the winch and head to Seaside-Fort Stevens area? Either we'd get kiting or some sweet winching off the jetty?

Yea but the Rowena sensor is in the middle of a bunch of wind blocks and rotors. That sensor at certain directions is completely useless.

It's probably broken as well Rolling Eyes

We'll probably cruise out if it picks up. 11avg at Swell and 17avg at Event site isn't quite enough, but it's promising.

Looks like yesterday was on at the Hatch and Sandbar. Anyone get it?
Points along the coast look fairly steady today.

I just snapped up some low fares on Southwest to bring my Daughter
down here next weekend for some sun before she helps me drive home.

PDX -> Austin $97 one way (stops in Denver)
Austin -> Harlingen $130 one way

Might be some seats left. The direct flight to HRL doesn't start again
until next spring. But you can still get here thru San Antonio, Houston
and now Austin. You'll need two separate itineraries but that's not
a problem. Just make sure the mark your bags HRL so you don't need
to transfer them yourself.

Hey Hein. I'm sorry I never made it down there but I've already had 3 good days here in December. Yesterday wasn't bad at the Event Site for those that got out quick. I was first out and got to fly my new 2009 10M Batwing. I'm totally impressed. I thought I might eek out one run just to give it a try before rigging bigger but I stayed out about an hour before my hands got cold. It lightened up a bit and Boardin' Bob took it out for and ripped and boosted for quite a while too. Lots of the usual Winter Suspects were out trying to get out before it dropped off. It felt more like September. With no snow on the Hoody this has been nice. I was just about to head down there again today but some rain just moved in. See you when you get back.
Patrik

Glad you and Bob got it, Patrik. I'm pretty sure it's gonna start dumping as soon as I get home. Laughing I've been praying for snow. Gonna get some wind this week and there have been some powerful northers coming through. Maybe I'll try to hit the next one. Surf is typically pretty crazy with the north wind but I'm sure folks have been riding them. Saw someone over at Boca for the last one. Been a while since I've ridden there but I hear the way up the beach is pretty doable now. Had some pretty sweet southerly days but the wait in between has been a little long. It's been nice to hang out with the retired winter Texans. The couple across the hall had me over for coffee this AM. They farmed in the Tri-Cities area and had some interesting history to share.

The shortest is 2400 which typically takes me 3 1/2 days but I've done it in just over 2 1/2 by myself when I had the motor home. I'm planning to visit family in Kansas and Colorado. Then it's more like 3K. Crazy thing is that I'll spend roughly half as much on go juice than when I came down here less than a month ago.
