Hey Yall,

First we need to pick a location. Ideally I want a location with both natural terrain and some sliders. It would be best if we could avoid frozen lakes unless we have a slider with us.

I have four weekend blocks that will fit into my schedule. Each of these dates I'm going to be scouting the forecast and if it's promising, trying to make it somewhere even if I have to sleep in my car and live off dog food.

Dec 12-15
Jan 2-5
Jan 9-12
Feb 6-9

Post here if you're interested and we can get a Google Calendar going to organize.

One idea....we could fly to boise (it's usually under $150 a person) rent a car and hit camas valley (only 90min from Boise)...my brother has a house in Boise so we could probably crash there...I think their season is a bit later in so maybe the Jan or Feb would work.

There is also a couple ski resorts close by so if there is no wind could always go boarding Very Happy

I am game for all those weekends except the last. Your not going to the NWKite Party??? Sad I was thinking Utah would have the best coverage early since it has been realy mild in the NW/Midwest. I might have a place to stay in SLC....I'll look into that for now.

What spots did you have in mind?

Montana, Idaho, St. Helens (rent sleds), Souther OR, Bend OR, and Utah are all on my wish list but not gonna make em all this year.

Travel by car only for me....got to much shit to drag around

All Spots within reasonable travel time 12 hours or less driving time. Southern Oregon, Idaho, and Utah. Preferably a spot that is easily forecasted as well. Spots with resorts are nice too, in case there is no wind. The idea is to plan ahead, but only go if the forecast looks good. Obviously, if Powder Mountain or Skyline has a park, we should go there. I've never looked into it.

Travel by car, no flying for me, to much stuff to bring with and to many fees.

I'm still figuring my life out for this winter, but would probably be interested in most of those if I'm in the area. Definitely let's look into it more when I get back and figure out our options. Nicole, I'd love to hit up Idaho and could probably even drive out there and take some of your guys' gear if you wanna fly.

it's closer than it seems, we're less than 2 hours from the Camas Valley here in Boise and it rips out there 5 days a week all winter long.

When the snows deep but the winds are still, there's 2 kicka** resorts super close by, Bogus Basin and Soldier Mtn....see pics for example of terrain. There's even high mtn snowkiting on the back of one of the resorts.....a bit sketch but fun as all hell. Twisted Evil

Bogus Basin is a blast...it's not a bad drive to Boise usually takes me like 6.5-7 hrs depending on if I am pulling a trailer or not. It would be a pretty cheap trip last time I think it was about $120 round trip in gas.

I would be down to go with you guys...not sure about Phil have to see if his knee is up to it or not.

My brother is coming for turkey day so I will talk to me and get us a hook up on a free place to crash Very Happy

We had a couple early dumps, but it's been in the 60's lately. Kiteboarded at CJ Strike reservoir yesterday--water temp 52* and air 67*.

There's maybe 3 inches at the base, but we've burned the old beater skis/boards and danced like Mohicans in hopes the gods would unleash the fluffy fury upon us. Laughing

might want to consider waterville in easter washington when it gets snow...
open range fields with rolling hills and no obstacles....
also there are infinite spots since you can just pull over on the acess roads and kite.
