snowkiting's first season pass... Confused

http://www.bestkiteboarding.com/Best-Utah

seems like they opened an area of out-of-bounds to snowkiters only...

T line allows Snowkiting, but you have to be outside the resort boundaries.

yeah, just found it weird that they are selling season passes to snowkiters, for snow-kite terrain only... $300

Oh, yea, that's intersting. I think they do some grooming? Do they have a terrain park they maintain?

Anyone interested in planning a forecast dependent road trip? GeneK and I have been thinking about planning a few weekends in advance and going at the first sign of a good forecast.

Yeah, I thought the resort in Eastern ID started doing the same kinda thing last year. But maybe it's Powder Mtn I am thinking of.

Man, snowkiting is really going to get big. So easy. So dry. It's got a lot of people (me included) excited about the snow again.

The kiter area is on Powder Mountains property and technically in bounds, hence them charging to use it. It is sick riding tho. Also there is a T-Bar that takes you right to the launch area to keep from hiking, as the parking area is not right next to the kiter area.

There is also a road to the top of the lift where there is a building.

From there depending on the wind direction you may have to walk a few hundred yards away from the lift.

Wait till newbies with ankle wieghts stat dragging into the lift as it is pretty close to the riding area.

I am sure the charge is for additional liability insurance and carbon affsets. Wink

been snowkiting powmow for the last couple years without a pass or a problem. now they see the $ sign and are charging for access. total crap. there is no need to use the t-bar.
rig up right out side of the parking area and head outta bounds.

their terrain totally sucks anyways... strawberry reservoir is the best by far in utah. you can even do 14 mile+ downwinders as the bird flies. cornices- steeps- meadows... it goes on and on forever- and it doesn't cost a thing.
