Depends. A shorty will be plenty on Southerly winds, but Northelies can turn things cold real fast (especially on the bay side). If you can bring a full and shorty. You'll probably use the shorty more, but will appreciate the full when u need it.

It was as flat as I've ever seen it this AM at sunrise. But the water is clear and warm
-perfect. I saw a sea turtle in the shallows today.

The jet is running way north with a high ridging over the four corners. Good for Baja
but not here. We need fronts coming from the north or pacific and there is a little
wave coming off the pacific but it is way north.

Looks like early fall for the NW. Hope you guys are riding.

It'll come and the thermal component should be fairly good since the farmers inland
are starting to plow their fields.

Great weather for relaxing, paddle boarding and romantic walks along the beach.
If I can't find Greg and his winch, I'm going to get a long line and have my wife
pull me along the beach with the car.

I wear surf shorts mostly and a 2mm shorty on the occasional cooler northerly. I have a Neil Pryde base layer (essentially a 1mm shorty) that I use under my 5mm in the Gorge, and I've found it's worth taking along for the 'really' chilly 70-degree overcast days, essentially turning my 2mm shorty into a 3mm without the hassle of covered arms or legs.

Though one year I was windsurfing there and it snowed (5 inches, reportedly for the first time since the 1800's). It was mid-December, and ironically I'd gone there because Meadows hadn't opened yet.

Here's a few shots off the balcony this week in SPI.

I added some blue to the dolphin's water. I didn't change anything on the other 2 pics. The sand is so fine here that when the wind blows especially from the north, the water gets very gray. I'm not sure of the number of seconds between waves but they come in tight with 3 wave breaks.

Gregg didn't bring his winch down here. We went towing behind Carol and Tony's Geo Tracker today which was pretty fun for a few pulls. Hoping for some good wind tomorrow Smile

Looks fun, Carol. I was tuning my 9m at the jetty and did some long boarding in the
park. Unhooked with pulley bar does make for a fun and vigorous work out although
I was wondering when the kite police would shut me down.

Call me next time before your Tracker turns to a pile of Fe2O3. My skate should be a
fun car tow board.

Crazy windy norther at 25-37 right now so I'm holding out till later hoping it will drop
and the waves clean up. I've really never been much into the Northers here even
though I'm goofy.
