The fact is that its done. I say we anchor it with 3-4 anchors to help it from tiping side to side and try the thing. whats the worst that could happen. It tips sideways when somebody hits it, pipes explode impaling the rider, the board catches on the now exposed frame, breaks the riders legs and he ends up hanging there a brusied bloody unconsious mess. Chicks dig scars right?

on boats sometimes people use flopper stoppers to slow roll at achorage
basically something that uses the weight of water to stop rolling.
Maybe a sheet of plywood secured underneath the frame that sticks out on the sides ,underwater far enough to avoid hitting it
It would move but not much
If sitting on the ground ,
a contanier above water in the frame ,
full of water to hold it on the ground

Exactly, that is what josihiebaby is for. I think two 5 gallon buckets filled with sand would go a long way to help alleviate rock.

If you want to add water to the barrels, it does not have to be a pain in the ass. 2 valves, one high, one low. Open both to add water. To empty water you could put wheels on it and roll it out of the water and drain it. Or, even cooler, use C02 bottles to force the water out while in the water. Open the bottom valve. Open CO2 valve to flush out water. Close valves. That would be easy and cheap to do...
To prevent sloshing, add foam to the barrel. Calculate how much water you want in the barrel. Add enough foam to take up the rest of the space. That would make filling with water easier too. Just open the valves and leave 'em open.

Simpler yet, place two holes with no valves, one at the bottom, the other on the side at level of desired water level in the barrel. The water would get in an out without need for opening any valves.

I like the tripod idea.
It wouldn't be too hard to weld some straight pieces across the bottom to act like the 2x4s in the picture.
Otherwise make a frame or something off the front to put the barrel in to balance it out a bit front to back.
Hopefully rooster will nuke out and the airport will blow...
hit that with a kite

Funny how the whole forum as a bunch of idea's on your design....But a handful of them will never build one, or even hit it.
The kicker looks GREAT!!! any snags will be resolved in 15 mins once it out in the water....Or you could sit on here and debate about it for another 5 months. (insert 3 letter word here)

If anything it has been highly entertaining as when I read some of the ideas they were pretty comical. But I guess that is what brain storming is all about really. If I (we) lived in HR then we would build a monstrously huge fun box and not worry about portability. Since we live in PDX, and assholes these days will steal anything that isn't bolted down, we have to transport, assemble, install before we can play.
I do appreciate the input though and it does seem like we are going to go with the tripod design. Although we are not going to weld a bunch of cages and extensions, etc as it has to fit in my 4 x 8 trailor. (along with 35 feet of sliders )
I'll post a pic of what I think is going to be the best solution.
Cheers!

What we need is a Hobie Cat done up with a Big Black Rampage, and a Jetski to pull it to the site!
