Anyone have any info or resources on Kiteboarding in Singapore? I know about Bintan Island, but I won't have time to get over there. Just curious if there's any riding in Singapore itself. Maybe on the East beach somwhere? I'll have a 1 day layover there in a week and a half.
Thanks! |

| I've looked into kiting in Singapore a little, but never hauled my gear over there. You can find some info and possible contacts by searching this forum (http://www.wakeboard.com.sg/index.php?) for "kite", as well as a general web search. Sounds like the windsurfing and kiting spots are in the East Coast/Changi area. Note that there is a cable park in Singapore (http://www.ski360degree.com/). They may having kiting info. One other contact may be the Mana Mana club (http://www.manamana.com/). You can always hit the cable park if kiting doesn't work out. I've done that the last 3 times I've been over there. Good luck and let me know if you get any solid leads or info. |

Thanks tons! That Mana Mana club used to be on Bintan island, I guess it's in Singapore now. I know they had kiteboarding at Mana Mana in Bintan, so they definately may know something. (I did not know Mana Mana had moved until you posted this.) Cool! Thanks again! |

I don't know where, or when to find wind in Singapore but I just sent 8 kites(7m, 9.5, 12m) and some sails(6-7m) to two different shops/ people over there. Seems it must be good sometime. Good luck and have fun. |

I hear it has moved, but, I have windsurfed at the Mana-mana resort on binton island. On shore wind was primarily storm front wind. The pro-am was there so it''s known for the wind. the boat from Singapore is easy to arrange. I might be in Sing. in Dec. Make sure to post how it is.
The Singaporians I work with tell me that kiting is very rare. |

i just got an email from mana mana on Singapore; they say kiteboarding is forbidden there. I might have to try and do the Bintan island for a day thing... Depends how the winds look. I might just try the cable park, never done that... |
