Here's a new YouTube vid of Joey killing it on a skim both behind a boat and with a kite.

We're working with Surftech and Royal to bring Joey out to the Gorge in June for our Slider Jam weekend to do some skim demo/clinics at the Sandbar.

Enjoy,
Pepi

Sick board.. Wink

Sick kites... Wink

I think we are totally in need of another strapless event like the one 2 summers ago... That's when I got the bug for riding strapless, after TopHat, Tybo, Joey, and Brian or whoever else was there, were out killing it..!

Really though, Joey has inspired my strapless riding like 10 fold after riding with those guys this summer...
Now gotta work on my 180-out after the airs!

nice work Pepi!

Its a surftech skim board....pepi has em at the shop. I think Chanson is the only local with that specific model.

Yep, you might not be able to ollie like that without a Royal kite, or the Morpheus skim from SurfTech... Wink

haha...no, just check with Pepi, he is gonna have the skim's on lock-down this year!!

And, if you want to try mine out when we are at the beach, feel free to ask..

-the Morpheus is a pretty good size all around IMO, for tricks, effeicency upwind and swell...

Yup...one of our projects this fall was to look at all the skims on the market and figure out which one would be the best for under the kite. Not only were we stoked on the Surftech Skim's performance, Mike and Pepi were stoked on Eric Roush, the shaper. From the second hand I got from the guys at the show, he's a super chill guy who's actually really intrigued by the use of his boards under the kite.

Bottom line: as Chanson, Gman and others have already shown, the skim is not only a solid light wind weapon, you can also bust one out in high winds and have a pretty good time trying new moves without completely wrecking yourself.

yeah joey and bryan kill it, but there are definately others.. Wink

I'm not that big of a fan of his board, but he's still got some moves... looks almost like a impossible flip at 1:13.. he sure does dangle-grab the board a lot..

some toby..., some not...

I think we are starting to see a lot more in terms of progression from pros and riders in general..... that's what keeps everyone pushing it!!

this guy from FL....
