Last weekend we snow shoed up from Marble Mountain snow park on Mount Saint Helens. We were looking for areas to kite ski within short hiking distance. It's about 2.5 miles before you breakout of the tree line. Could work with southeast wind on a good day.

It's closed above the 4800 foot elevation, below is open. Area we trekked is trail 244, stopped about ¼ mile past intersection of 244C - June Lake Ski Loop.

Looking at scale on map puts distance closer to 1.5 miles or 3 miles round trip.
