No more nwweather.com... this from the home page:
Quote: | The time has come to make some changes at NW Weather and consequently in 2006 I will no longer be providing daily forecasts for wind sports through nwweather.com. Forecasting for my fellow windsurfers has been a labor of love over the past 5 years but publishing 7 times a week has been difficult.
Fortunately, iWindsurf (which includes iKiteSurf) has agreed to have me join their forecast team on a part-time basis. This will allow me to continue forecasting for wind sports while giving me relief from the 7 day schedule.
I understand this decision will create disappointment for some loyal users of NW Weather, as forecasts will no longer be available on this website. However, I know most of you are already members of iWindsurf.com and encourage the rest to join this excellent service. By combining with this new team my local knowledge and weather experience will be used to improve all the weather offerings at iWindsurf.com. Forecasts are updated through the day and available via website, wireless web, and pager. Further, we all have access to many resources unavailable to NW Weather. It's clear the iWindsurf team shares my enthusiasm for both meteorology and windsurfing. Working with other meteorologists will be a welcome change from the solo operations of the past 5 years.
I want to thank everyone for supporting me over the years. I really enjoy all the feedback on the forecasts and will keep the dialog open going forward. I will still utilize NW Weather to offer weather related consulting services as long as they do not conflict with the work I am doing for iWindsurf/iKitesurf. Please email me with any comments at gmclean@gorge.net

hope iwindsurf will incorporate all the features of nwweather because their service has been slowly getting flashier but seemingly less accurate. Also what about forecasts for sauvies, jones and the coast? Iwindsurf doesn't even bother with those. This sounds like good news for George (who has done an awesome service) but sad news for us.

Hopefully George will bring more quality and completeness to the IWindsurf forecast.
Mike S - this is a cue to you to step it up on the Forecast side of nwwind.net! |

Yea I Windsurf/Kitesurf really needs to have coastal forcasts especialy sauvies island and jones beach. NW weather was the only site i found that had a good forcast for those spots. |
