I ventured out to Sauvie's today. The water level has returned to normal. The boat is gone...... I'd say to a better place but...... its now upside down at the nudie beach!
There is alot of full tree trunks and brush piled up and down the beach. We need to get a clean up party together and try to cut up and roll the logs back to the river.

I think any clean up should wait for a couple months...we another good rain storm or spring melt off could wash all that away. There is a lot of snow up there to melt off!!

Yeah I thought about that. The next time the big rains come we want to have our clean up. Right now the logs are 50-60' from the water. It would be easier not to have to roll them that far. _________________ Cleverly disguised as an adult...

You might want to think twice about a cleanup that involves pushing the logs back into the water. Would be kinda bad publicity if someone came along in their boat and crashed into a log kiters had just sent floating off to be someone elses problem.......better check that out with fish and wildlife or whoever is reponsible for the beach/river. Maybe if someone has a boat you can float and tow them downstream a bit and then rebeach them???

I'll volunteer to bring some beer out when we decide on a day to the cleanup... anyone got a chainsaw? (beers and chainsaws, what a combo!) |

Maybe we should blow them up - like they do when a wale washes up on the coast. That would be fun after a few beers- and good PR for local riders too. _________________ RidiN is LiviN |

All we need is a day with some decent wind and few 25.5m Slingy Machines... Pretty sure that would be sufficient pulling/lifting force, and hey, if not, then we just put up more kites.
If not, I think blowing them up would be fun too! |

I maybe able to come up with a chainsaw. I will try for a log roller or two as well.
I did see tire tracks on the beach. I wonder if we can use a truck to tow stuff around.
I do like the idea of blowing it all up. Much like the whale years ago!! _________________ Cleverly disguised as an adult...

If we are talking beer and chainsaws better get some shotguns in the mix too! |
