Random! Figured the guy that I almost landed on would have switched up and headed back out when he saw me take off, but that was the problem, he didn't even know I was there... At first I was like, "Oh fuck, gonna land on him"... then after I knew I was clear, I should have back looped the kite around, but all I was thinking about was crashing into the tripod. So yeah, crashed, unhooked, and tossed the bar. Kite cleared it by ~50ft or so after "swimming" in, so I would have been fucked if I would have tried to fly it out.

If you look closely, Amery sprayed the shit out of the windsurfer when he touched down! Laughing

The windsurfers were all cool though. Thumb's Up

So were you trying to go over him or just random? I wish we knew some cool windsurfers that were cool with us launching over them!!!

I do, but they live down in the Bay Area. Great bunch of guys that share the waves and throw some nice moves like front/back rolls, etc. It's fun looking down at a windsurfer as you're flying up there. It might even make it OK to dangle, haha.

That was ME that Amery almost landed on!
It was super windy and I had stopped in shallow water to make some adjustments.
Then, suddenly I felt some strong spray on my back.
I turned around to see the sheepish grin of the kiter who almost landed on me.
Yipes - that was a bit close for comfort.

The good news is if he had landed on me, I would've never known what killed me. It's amazing how far downwind you guys fly during those big boosts. All I ask is that you check the potential landing zone for debris (and windsurfers). I enjoy sharing the water with kiters - often I'm the only windsurfer out during the weekdays.

see you on the water,
bobg

Didn't Kimbo just get his ass kicked Twisted Evil

Let the mixed martial arts fighting pundits celebrate: Kimbo Slice lost his first pro fight on Saturday night. The loss, however, came from a stand-in fighter. Slice was supposed to fight Ken Shamrock, but Shamrock was unable to fight due to a cut over his left eye he got while training. The stand-in, Seth Petruzelli, stepped in and defeated Slice in about 14 seconds.

When the fight began Slice aggressively went after Petruzelli. But in the commotion, Petruzelli caught Slice on the jaw with his right hand, stunning him to the ground. As soon as Slice hit the ground, Petruzelli pounced on him and started reigning blows on Slice's head and face. The referee quickly stepped in and stopped the fight.

"It was an opportunity to step up," Petruzelli told ESPN after the fight. "This is something I wanted all my life."

"It's all good," added Slice, who fell to 3-1. "It was unexpected, but it's all good."

MMA critics have continually said that Slice is overrated and wouldn't be able to hang against a quality MMA opponent, There's no word on when Slice's next fight will be, but the expected bout with Brett Rogers will be a little while down the road. Slice may end up fighting Shamrock next, but there hasn't been an announcement yet, but we're sure Slice will want a rematch with Petruzelli. See the Slice knockout after the jump:

found this little gem while checking the forecast http://forums.iWindsurf.com/viewtopic.php?t=16145
Note to readers: not all windsurfers are like this, just the ones who troll the internet and don't spend enough time on the water. I think we all get a little pissy though when there is a lack of water time in our daily lives.
