| Does anyone know where the closest spots from the Mexican border are where you can kiteboard in April? We were planning on going to La Ventana, but that seems to be a very long drive. Also, what are some good locations in California, as we will be along Hwy 101 a lot of the time as well. |

Raul's is the spot closest to the border. Check ikitesurf and previous posts for details. So. Cal. is a light wind area so bring your big kites. My favorite spots are Silver Strand (Coronado), Mission Bay, Tourmaline at La Jolla (when there aren't too many surfers), and Seaside beach in Cardiff. Biggest tip - if you see a kite in the air, get your butt in the water before the wind dies.  |
