15m to big??? i ride a 12m c kite on the street with a skate board up to the low 20s
i weigh 150lbs.... (you ground board in a 4wheel drift). you can ride with just as much power if not more on the ground baord.

but yeah you should be fine on a 15m foil to about 20mph as you get better but i would start off with a 10m or smaller.

I ride 09 torches and cults

15M FOIL? You probably meant a 15M C kite or bow kite?

There aren't too many companies that even make 15M foils. You can sustain flight (soar) off a hill with a 15m foil in 20mph winds. I do it all the time with 12-15M speedwings, which are essentially foils. You'd have a hard time staying on the ground in 20mph with a 15m foil.

With a good 4-line foil on handles (Ozone Yakuza or JoJo RM+), you'd have more power than you needed with a 4M in 20mph winds. A 10M sheetable foil would be fine in 20M winds.

Built this in '05. Twisted my ankle on it so didn't take it any further.
Not sure if it even has potential. But I still have the press I used to
make it.

Some guy down at Windwing has it and I think he's ridden it some.
Think maybe he added some straps to it. Could use a fender.

You should really try a ground industries board. Eli weighs in at about 220 lbs and gets big air with them. He's a team rider for GI and they have him try to break his demo boards and then send the broken parts to them so they can make improvements. If a board can survive Eli, it's pretty bullet proof.

If you are ever headed to seaside, let me know.

Hey Hein
What would you think of 2 wheels on that thing
perhaps some light buggy wheels one per end
some fenders to lean on and some straps to hold on to?

I'm guessing you already thought of it

just need enough edge to get back upwind
blo sand is so loose
concerns about pearling

Well that prob even tops the abuse that Eli provides! Shocked

Maybe you should contact GI with some info about your riding style and see if they need another test pilot

anywhere to buggy around Vancouver or north PDX? My ankles and knees are too buggered up for ground boards and skateboards.

Anywhere to rent / beginner demo a buggy?

Do you guys remember these things?

http://skiing.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?zi=1/XJ&sdn=skiing&cdn=sports&tm=11&gps=441_476_1396_874&f=00&su=p531.49.336.ip_&tt=2&bt=1&bts=0&zu=http%3A//www.grasski.com/

Hein, can you build some of these that are wide enough to float on the dunes?

I imagine that there would be a ton of other all terrain places to ride them as well.
