offshore...Got a Family now..But for you free folk lookin. Global/stateside paid travel, usually 1 month on..and two months off as a contractor/union worker. And you cant spend $$ on the boat. Just be careful in port about blasting the $$blaster
For the ultimate freedom just live on the ships for work and just hang out wherever you want on your offtime. do a job in trinidad..chill in barbados

i'm in Wilmington NC. Been kiting almost every day, although I've been forced to figure out my new skim board (which i LOVE). light winds, but the warm water and waves make up for it.

I didn't get to kite the mighty mississippi! I didn't even try. the whole river was glass with not one ounce of wind the whole time I was there. More quality time with gramma.

see y'all end of sept!

Good point! Anybody with utility,GIS, or programming experience? A company I work for is hiring for our Vancouver WA office. I will be understanding when you need to take afternoon off... Heck, I'll join you at Jones or SI. Cool

Someone said healthcare might be a good option. I am a clinical pharmacist and work 6a-6p for 7 days then I am off for seven days! Sometimes if it is really windy I can leave a little early on my days on.....I know several nurses that work whenever they want and seem to get alot of days on the water. Peace.

I would think if you don't enjoy whatever you do
do something else
personally I'm no good at things I don't enjoy.

I enjoy my career
"Entreprenuer is another word for lazy"
I've always been very lazy
worked like a jackass for 25 years and now enjoy being very lazy
doing what I liked
raising a family (in one place)
building assets
now enjoying that.

I may have got into wind sports,
but being in Oregon it was very easy.

I have had other hobbies that I persued out of state (Soaring)
and spent quite an effort to do
However I was involved in some very high pressure work at that time and needed a high pressure release.

After spending a good deal of time traveling ,most of the retirees we met were or are currently in the education field.

It seems that if you don't find something fun you can do when younger you will probably not get involved in anything later.

Some great advice from some good (business) friends,
"you are doing everything right ,there's just no money in it"
making money can be fun and challenging ,
but once you make a lot of it
it's not that satisfiying and a larger goal will be needed.

I still work ,mow lawns ,collect rent, fix broken stuff, deal with tenets
but it only takes a day or two a month Smile

"Real estate is the best way for the average person to get ahead"

On the other hand if you know something
"Make your fortune from neither bricks nor stone"

A transplanted S.African living in Belize We spent some time with once said to me "You Americans ditch your children and dump your parents, how is that wealth"?
"I have my family,my son, my ,grandson and my father all here with me"
He looked very wealthy.
pretty much the same old BS
Embarassed

I work for Kiters...not too bad of a gig, until everyone needs something done and it's windy so I don't get to kite when that happens....

I give props to anyone who FINDS TIME to chase down wind and kite...

Worked hard in the tech industry as a design engineer for Xerox and HP and worked myself into a position to get noticed within Naish.

Now work for Naish as a designer in Maui... Kite/surf/windsurf/sup/paraglide almost every day...

Still, miss the NW a lot... Bams
