Okay all, we may be as little as one month away from our first northerly sessions at Sauvies and the Coast! Well that is if the freakishly early warm weather that we got last year shows up again.
Here's your chance to use your forecasting/data mining/six sense skills to pick the first warm north wind day of the season.
Here are the rules for the north wind day to count:
- Wind must be some version of North (N-NE-NW)
- Riding upwind by more than one individual will be required (probably there will be a ton of us out there so this should be no problem)
- You must have at least two individuals other than yourself confirm the day was a success
Now remember north wind = nice, sunny, clear, warm weather. So first day we have that hits 70 degrees will probably also be the first north wind day.
How to enter:
Just post on this thread! Put your date below, only one date per user. Only one user per date!
I will collect the entries and the decal to the winner!
Whoever picks the exact day or the day closest to will be the winner. In the case that two people are tied, the person who picked the earlier day will be the winner. (I figure favor the early season optimist!) Only one entry per date will be allowed, so get your pick in ASAP to make sure nobody takes it.

| March 20th..? I was looking over the iKitesurf wind archive for Scappoose and in April the winds was still changing direction a lot. Oh well, just a guess! |

Warm is a relative term. The first NW riding day on the coast of this yr was done by myself, WindSlither and Barfly on Jan 14th on the North Or_E-GON coast. Yes we did get rained on and hailed upon, but we also got blue sky and sun.
Yesterday had ample wind all along the coast from the N/NW. Did anyone go?
My guess for the coast is March 7th and April 20th for SI; 3-7 and 4-20!  |
