should put down some criteria as we're all special or at least specially challenged in some way, but if it's the storm trooper award, I nominate GMAN...he's kited something like 30 consecutive months in as many absurd conditions - get a job already!!

There's a guy at work that has ankle weights in his cube, I made him explain to me what they were for and why he used them, I don't think he was embarrassed like I had intended  |

I think Spike, you won this contest last year. (new kiteboarder of the year)
This year I vote for Perry J. He's always there, has no fear
and has his ankle weights built in, --he's a trooper. You've seen him at your
beach for sure. Gman is definitely the guy with the most time on the water,
I envy that, but like spike, Perry is without doubt the most determined new
kiter on the water this summer.

Here are the categories that will be awarded:
Gorge Windsurfer of the Year :: Overall good spirit, friendly windsurfer, kind to his or her comrades, embodies and/or respects the Gorge lifestyle, etc.
Most epic wipeout :: You saw it and cringed. We want to know. Send us a picture, and we'll post the winner at www.CGWA.net.
Best rescue :: Does someone deserve recognition for his or her repeated rescues or general “heads up” for fellow wind enthusiasts?
Best steward of the Gorge :: This person “gets” what the Gorge is all about and respects it. It could be your friend who picks up beach litter after sailing, or somebody who is extra involved in the local community, or…
Most stoked :: Who inspires your best sessions? Who do you look to for that smile at the end of the day?
Best Dale Cook impression :: Who gets the biggest air? (Okay, almost the biggest air… we know Dale could blow him or her away any day).
Up and Comer :: Tell us about a stoked kid or an aspiring competitor.

We need to nominate a kiteboarder of the year and have some catagories that recognize youth especially! It would be great if we could nominate a person who is not a pro, but is kind, fun and embodies the good things about kiteboarders.
I'm a member of CGKA and we need to do this to show that we are proactive and have a culture that exceeds our own personal self interest to kite.
We could have a pro kiter m/w catagories for most signifigant contribution to charity or a good cause etc..Tonia KB4C
Who's willing to meet with me and discuss this possible event.

Ohhh, don't you worry. Cause if there is a kiteboarder of the year, THERE HAS TO BE a kook of the year. Not sure if you'll take the honors, there is a strong field this year. |
