Not sure if someone already posted about this...but I am really suprised that Kiteboarding is not on the list for Gorge Games!

Any thoughts?

I think it is on the list...they just failed to mention it in the article. Isn't Tybo heading up the kiteboarding comp?

Looks like kiteboarding is listed but it's listed as a pro comp. Should be fun to watch.

The new owners of the Gorge Games have been a bit behind on getting dialed in with local event organizers, but are appearing to get things quickly dialed in. I was one of the persons in touch with the new Gorge Games owners throughout the winter and was personally a bit concerned about their intentions and understanding of our sports and our community, but as I mentioned above, things are finally fitting into place.

Dave Tyberski has agreed to run the kiteboarding events for the Gorge Games this year. He's currently skipping in and out of the country working for the PKRA as a judge, but wanted all the local kiters to know that he is on the job and hopes to work together with the new CGKA board of directors and line up as much support as possible from the local kiteboarding community.

Stay posted and info will be released as things progress.

Keep your calenders open for July 17-20.

Hi Everyone and thank you Pepi for backing me up during my travels. Yes,
kiteboarding will be a significant part of this years Gorge Games and I have recently come onboard to coordinate and organize this years kiteboarding portion of the Games. I'm really exited to be a part of this great event and look forward to hearing peoples comments and suggestions about making it a great success for the Gorge community, for the Games, and for the sport of kiteboarding. Stay tuned here for official press releases and detailed updates- I will have them up in the US and Int'l forums soon. I hope to coordinate with the GKA and WKA in hopes of getting our kiting community involved as much as possible. In the meantime, feel free to PM me or email me at david@davidtyburski.com with any questions, comments or suggestions. Thanks everyone! Dave Tyburski

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Dave!

Got a question - Will the boardercross portion have obstacles to jump or will it be a buoy race?

No problem-Boardercross is usually a variety of cross and down wind marks with obstacles to jump and bouys to round with a couple mandatory maneuvers at specific locations in the course. Sound fun?
