Tue Jan 15, 08 7:19 pm    OT inventions too gay for kiters |
				     |

Over the last couple months I've noticed a trend:

Anything new that isn't kiteboarding must be considered either extremely inferrior, or simply gay:

Wave Warrior

  	  | Quote: | "have fun buddy swimming for your board and thing at the same time.....gay."

"The "Wind Weapon" - looked gay back then - looks gay now." |

Venom Switchboard

  	  | Quote: | "starts with g and ends in ay."

"Distinctly homosexual."

"that is a terrible design, How are you supposed to fly ur ktie?" |

Sailboats

  	  | Quote: | | "man, those things in the pic look like giant windsurf boads. gman, how do you get those things up in the air on jumps? does it take a lot of hot air?" |

Powered Snowboard

  	  | Quote: | "G_G_G_G__GAY"

"The Warnings make it gay"

"This probably is fun for at least 5 minutes! I wonder what the price tag is? Probably about enough to go buy a snowkite! And seriously...no jumping....wtf!" |

Dirt windsurfing

  	  | Quote: | | "now THAT is gay...." |

Wake Kite

  	  | Quote: | "Gay."

"I'd rather try to fly a foil, trainer (even if it wouldn't stay in the sky at all), crash it in the water, and swim in from halfway across the river. That's how much I want one. " |

Last but not least, Windsurfing!

  	  | Quote: | | "windsurfing is gay find a new sport." |

LoL! Good observation! The powered snowboard does look a little homo tho...

There's also a motorcycle that you can mount on your feet w/ bindings and haul ass down the beach. Can't remember what it's called, but I know it'd be funny to watch someone hit a creek ... until I had to help.

Actually, Bambam's paragliding posts seemed to be pretty well received. But yeah, everything else has been flamed. Of course if you look at most of the stuff its hard to say that it didn't deserve a good toasting.

I would gather we didn't deem it gay because:

a. You are jumping off a cliff - (Even windsurfers wouldn't consider that gay)

b. The paragliding set up is like a kite - not gay.

As someone who walks both sides of the line, I peruse the I-Windsurf forum from time to time, and last year there was a healthy exchange between our own homeboy PKH and some dude who accused NWkite of being "anti-windsurfing". I have to admit, it does seem like every so often its rolls around to "windsurfing is gay" time on this site, which is too bad, because otherwise its a great forum.

The Wave Warrior? Hey, the early kiters didn't look too cool either... besides, wasn't it "get a new sport?" looks like someone did...

Any, talk is cheap. Spike, you just let us know when you're hitting it bigger than this guy, ok?:

				| I say we vote for the gayest of the above contraptions. There is a fine line between stupid gay and just plain gay but I think the "dirt windsurfer" takes the cake.

Remember when Phil posted the...."if you can't huck like Dale Cook keep it zipped." post. You have to admit that's a lot of weight to be flying around and Dales not a guy to take lightly...just ask The Dangler. haha

How come Spike's gay colored helmet isn't on the list to vote for? It gets my vote.

Actually, we just kinda run off the cliffs. No jumping required.

Kind of an interesting collection, through paragliding and windsurfing don't belong on it IMO.

Paragliding takes a lot bigger balls than kiteboarding no doubt! Though did he say paragliding was gay? I thought it was just the wakekite.

And windsurfing is tough... its not really gay. Well maybe the SPI style where old guys ride around at 5mph in 10mph winds and yell at passing kiters.

But nuking hatch dale cook boosting, not gay no way.

"Kite leashes are gay!"
