I need to replace the pads and straps on my fuse.... kudos to slingshot for making a kick - a$$ board, but man... the pads and straps suck. the pads are like 1/8" thick maybe, which as a result (I'm guessing) leaves the foot straps big enough for me to slide my calf through.
Ideally, I'd like to find a thicker pad that is bi-directional, as well as straps.
So, now's the time to pimp your brand!
Please post a link with the pimp so I can go check them out.
thx.

Might wanna wait and see the '08 SS pads/straps, Brett (that's if you haven't already seen them). They are directional though. |

Concur with the little lady, Hein pads/straps are the bomb. Save your knees/feet and invest in some good pads and straps. They might be a little more $$$ but they are worth it. How much would you pay for a good pair of running shoes? You don't go running in your flip flops do you?
Also been impressed by the 08 Slingy pads/straps and also the LF pads are very cush. |

I would have to agree with PKH on the LF pads/straps! I have been riding them for about a year now, and am VERY happy! 2-4 hours solid on the water and in total comfort!
Here is a link to their newest ones: http://www.liquidforcekites.com/bindings_luxury.htm |

The LF pads are the plushest pads I have ever run across. The straps are cushy and fairly easy to adjust as well but they are not the most durable things in the world.
The pads are so soft thought that they may be making my feet hurt. I was onlt on the water for 2 gusty, holey, lully hours yesterday and my feet were killing me last night and this morning. Could be that I took a three month hiatus from walking this year but I also think that they are soo thicka nd soft that my ankle is rolling around allot or something.
Anyone with the LF binding ever experience this? |

I have experienced something similar for all pads that are well cushioned (FOne, old Gaastra pads). For some reason, cushy pads seriously hurt my feet/arches within the 1st 10-15 minutes or riding. Then if I can endure it, the pain normally goes away. That's why I use the DaKine traction pads!
Sorry to pimp, BUT, in the upcoming issue of The Kiteboarder (starts mailing Aug 27) we compared 6 sets of footstraps and pads
Litewave Mac-Daddy
Slingshot Bolt Down
Liquid Force Pro
Best Hover system
Mystic
Dakine X-Lace system _________________ Marina

I love the Caution. They are very catilac. They also have a nice little toe grab. Once or twice I have had my foot go all the way through the strap but that was on very hot wipe outs. I now have the new naish pads that are very comparable to the caution but the foam is pleasently stiffer. It does have a bit of a toe grab but nothing compared to the caution. The nash straps are horrable, "looser than a 10th street ....... "Well you know what I'm saying. To me straps and pads are 30 percent of the board and I like a little padding down there. _________________ Learn, Love, Live.... |

I can't figure out what Doyle has in mind with those pads on the Fuse
after a hour my feet were numb
for two days!!!
If you ride it flat there is not as much pressure but it pounds with chop
better pads really help |

question for COkiter... what size did you end up getting? I really like that option... i have pretty small feet, so most pad/straps are way bigger than I need.
blowhard... i totally agree... not sure what was going through their minds... rode it in the blowout and my feet were hurting.
marina... when's the next issue coming out? |

flyinelvis,
I'm a size US 8 and I got the medium UG's. I'm getting a second set for my Nobile too. I had a set of LF Luxury, 05's I think but like the UG's much better, not nearly as slippery. |

The next mag ships August 27 so should be in shops toward the end of that week, early the following week. Subscribers will receive their mags within 5-15 working days from August 27.
some early findings:
mystic system cinched down for small feet best
LF Pro straps seem to have widest range for feet
Litewave Mac-Daddy adjusted largest for big feet, prob cause litewave's feet are big:-)
most of the new straps have the toe thingy that keeps em in (like my tech talk? haha) _________________ Marina
