Hi There,
I am the windsurfer who got separated from my gear while sailing Cheap Beach. My board separated from my rig and before I knew it they both got pulled away from me. When I looked to shore I thought...no problem I can swim in. But very quickly I realized the current was pulling me further out and down river. This amazing young kiter came to my rescue. Not only did he get me back to shore, but he went out and retrieved both my board and rig!
This local gal is very grateful.
Thanks so much.
If you know who this person was I would like to buy them a case of their favorite beer. |

I saw the windsurfing board working its's way down through swell and then the kiter working it back in with a body drag. Impressive since it looked much heavier and awkward than the typical twin tip recovery. Wish I had paid closer attention to the kite he was flying... |
