Have not been there is a couple of years. Used to pump up at the start of the path just beyond where you park and then carry kite and lines down to the water. You have to wade across the "lagoon" to get to clean wind and then drift launch. Nice to have someone to help launch.
Have fun... |

Haven't launched there in years, but looking at the shoreline of the Columbia lately, I would expect issues with the Eurasian Milfoil weeds that are choking so much of our shoreline. The weed can grow 2 inches a day and prefers water depths of 2-15 feet. _________________ moondog |

miss the trees at the end of the runway!
it was a drift launch at the water level i last tried and failed - can be fun - best to bring a crew and a kite launcher
fond memories of a the kite stuck in a tree and and whole thing bending while retrieving from about 40' above the deck _________________ Go Deep!

Been kiting Viento the last few days hit some of that weed on the Oregon side board stuck right in it. Body drag to get it sort of thick in spots. Talk to another guy he came in around the corner west of Viento it was so thick had to leave his kite in it. He said could of drowned. His kite was 50 yards from shore. I told him better find someone with a boat. That some bad weed don't smoke it. |
