Back in April I borrowed a drone for some aerial shots at my favorite Oregon spot, Floras Lake. Calm day so no kiting, but maybe a useful look for those curious about what it's like there. First attempt at aerial videography, so don't judge too harshly!

How much wind can that drone handle?

This was with a Mavic Pro. DJI claims it's top speed is 40 mph, I've read reports of folks using it to effectively film kiting in 20 kts wind. I tried flying it in around 12 kts once and the performance is significantly affected, so realistically it's probably only good for filming light wind kiting. Though if you're just looking for stationary shots it would probably fine in pretty strong conditions. |
