Get your beeeze by and save a buck a crossing and time. I hear a new bridge is supposed to be in place by 2023 with a path for walking and riding. About time for cities that tout living green but not allowing you to walk or ride across. Also the span for tug and barges will be increased 3 fold as it’s the narrowest in the entire river. More barge accidents at the hr bridge alone than the rest of the Columbia river system !

that bridge is crazy, for so many reasons.
really cool article in a hood river paper last summer about the history of the bridge.
it didn't originally raise. lift section had to be added when bonneville damn raised the river level.

The first time I drove across that bridge I was in a 34ft rented motor home. It was quite thrilling hugging the rail while trying not to come in contact with oncoming traffic.
I wonder how many side view mirrors have been broken on that bridge.

Dog Patrol, where did you hear it would be in place by 2023. It would be great, but hard to believe since they are just doing studies right now.
