I've got a good friend who is retired ARMY currently working in Camp Victory IRAQ as a civilian contractor. He has an idea to boost troop moral. He wants to kite a lake located near the airport. This lake is called Z-lake and apparently is loaded with undetonated mortars etc. I’m trying to put together some gear. If you are interested in this endeavor please contact me by post here.
We owe it to the troops to inspire them to fly a kite!!

Im in on Gear development for sure.
In my hooka-haze, ive come up with a sure fire way to boost moral and Win our war of terror...
1st we have to flag the mortars so the riders can see them..
we'll need boards made of bulletproof kevlar..
and whitewater camo body armor...
So, as you approach the mortar, you send the kite and BAM! the explosion propelS you into the atmosphere!.. Very nice, yes?
And Good for moral...
Once we get the troops psyched on kiting, and I am finished with my M16 kitebar, we can start planning our true destiny, a kite assault of the holyland
THAT OIL IS MINE, BITCH

Currently there are people, like you and I, over in Iraq doing what they signed up to do. Our government decided to send young men and women over seas to fight and they went. Some don't really agree with it, but that is what you do when you are in the millitary. You go do what you are told to do.
These young men and women need some distractions form the day to day grind. They need to see that there is a life outside of the sandbox.
This effort is to bring a little bit of fun into their lives.
Whether you are for it or against it doesn't really matter
Peace

Hey Danger,
It doesn't really matter your political bend on this issue. My friend will be flying a kite as a civilian. He will be wearing a wet suit, no armor, while skimming across a lake loaded with undetonated ordinance. Some mortars don't detonate when they hit water, but if he hits them they will blow.
He is taking a risk to do something that will make US Troops, and Local folks smile!
Thanks for your reply,
Ron
Peace

So, you're basically saying that he doesn't need a leash?
