Please consider running this Android app on your device. Potential to vastly change our weather forecasting tools when thousands of kiters, anyone, all are sending pressure gradients to a server at the University of Washington:
"Can pressure observations from millions of smartphones revolutionize weather forecasting?
By the end of the year over a billion smartphones with relatively high quality pressure sensors will be in use, producing a surface observing network of unparalleled density and number."

Thanks for the link kip.
I just installed.
This is perhaps the best all around weather app I have ever used. Many many features. Well layed out. Easy to use.
I don't see it replacing my ikitesurf account, but it definitely fills in a lot of gaps. Plus, using it lends to the likeliness of better wind forcasts in the future.
FYI you have options to control how often (default is every 15 minutes) as well as method (over wifi only, or via cell data plan) in which you upload your barometric pressure data from your phone. _________________ Kiting starts at 40MPH |
