the water level is crazy low for october. still nice to be able to kite in hood with minimal cold weather gear. not really cold yet, but man the sandbar is huge today

I believe that these levels are what the actual water reservoir levels are supposed to be.
Originally the Corp was forecasting water levels to be about this low all summer, but with the water temps skyrocketing and fish starting to die off in visible numbers, the corp negotiated with the water holders upstream in Canada to allow for a more aggressive flow to attempt to drop the water temps along the entire Columbia River system, thereby avoiding a growing or continuing fish die off syndrome.

Extremely low water at Doug's and Rowena also looks like it could open up a lot of new kite launching options.
