I have 12m noise, it flies ok.....just ok. From what I hear the smaller kites in good wind do well...I actually got caught out in 25k winds and then the kite flew good, but most all kites fly good in good wind.

I heard the trade in deal is only good in Australia, but may be coming to the US next summer.

They look good (and awfully similar to the Octanes he was flying when he left Slingshot to develop "the perfect wave kite" Laughing ).

Switch kites are worth looking at. Direct factory sales, lower costs from no advertising or team riders freebies.

10m new for around $800 including shipping to your door. Heard the bar is kinda crap, but the kites get great reviews, and I've seen them and the build quality is stellar.

I'm looking to pick a couple up this spring, as my Slingy hookup evaporated.

And yeah, the bws is basically an Octane. I heard he copped the design files from Slingy before he left.

Gotta love new kites at used kite prices!!!

I have had the switch element and switch method. Element is nice and easy, typical open c, no real bar pressure, pulls tuff, good boosties, tight loops. does all the expected stuff like self launch/relaunch/go upwind really well and easy.

I haven't ever flown another dedicated wave kite aside from the method, but i did enjoy it a lot. the way it 'drifted' made getting on swell or a wave and riding your board vs flying the kite fun. You could almost ride straight at the kite. Lots of bar pressure from this kite, that took a bit of getting used to.

Bar is exactly the same as the north bar, right down to the divots on the rubber grip. They must've licensed it from them. I never tried it with the 5th line, think that might only be for their C kite. I dont think the bar is bad, and i don't think its great.

Didn't mean to hijack. Im supposed to chime in on this stuff for the discount they give me. I wouldn't BS you though, its good stuff. If it wasn't, I'd pay full price and fly something else. Sessions are more important than money.

If you want a bunch of detail on all of it just PM me.

Again, sorry if this gets called a hijack. Honestly, its good to see some things on here about kiting lately. Was getting way OT and stale for a while.

...soo does this mean the whole don't compare brands is off?

I mean especially since people that haven't even flown the kite "heard" it was an octane. Actually i don;t care either way, but if you haven't even ridden the kite or seen it maybe not say you heard it was like an octane....

yeah the offer was only good in Aussie land.

I like the 6 and 8 didn't like the 12. They fly big. Seem extremely well made so far. Love the plain graphics. Dano has been very helpful in answering questions and providing outstanding warranty service. I haven't flown an Octance.

So yes I got a loaner 10m noise, <kite only>
NO its nothing like a octane , the 10m is good, it didnt fall ever or think of falling.
Even if I did fall . Have only one session on the kite so not going to say any more.
The bar and lines are good and strong and the depower simple! the stopper works great. The bar doesnt aggresively eat yours hands up.
Thier are some serious issues I have with the kite deno says thier fixed.
THOU I am a terrible critic on these deals and close to who does R&D.
The power sterring line has high wear, comes with extra new, still not the answer.
The placement of bumber gaurds and the rubber material I do not like.
Also been pumping and comparing to my other kites and the sizing nobody will ever understand. MUst be some auzzi, or hawaii thing call it 2m less then it is?
Also thiers no adjusting points or knots, only one set up.? bens really confident, or just doesnt need options or sale gimmics? you get the same ride every time!
I am trying to ride this kite but the wind is not on my side.D>p.

The crew was thick today and the wind was too light.
every body went out for a few laps and back in.
Tomarro we are hope better for cast, and some are camping the night.
Surf is very small. demo kites are availible,
patric and IAN are presant at the spot . the spot is a secret so we ask you not to repeat it out loud < jalama beach park>
