What are your thoughts on using sand bags to weight down your kite (temporally of course)? What is the likely hood of them damaging your kite?

They work great. I use the NSI ones, easy to fill and empty.

Agreed. They work great as long as you make sure that there are no sharp objects on the opposing side of the kite (the ground)!

....socks filled with smooth rocks or sand work as well but I'm sure some folks would rather purchase some kiteboarding specific product with a slick logo on it...

An old windshield washer container full of water works well too and it just slides off no problem . They are 2.99? at walmart and come full of fluid too .

What would be great would be a bag made out of edible cloth. (Don't know where I saw that...) Use it then feed the fish with it, nothing to carry back to the rig. Wink

Another sandbag idea I use ... "moneybags" - canvas coin bags purchased from a coin dealer. Durable and long-lasting. Fill with sand and close with a plastic cable tie. Simple - cheap.
